Shifting Sands is Self Published and written in 2008 it deals with the adventures of a young man in Egypt in 2006. He gets a job at the pyramids and is happily occupied with the business of archeology when his private life intrudes. He finds himself torn between two loyalties – his job and new friends, who though only connected to him through a young colleague, seem to be more than just South African tourists having fun.

The story is fictional of necessity as none of the scenes described actually occurred in the way that is mentioned. Some of the references are also hearsay. Although some characters are similar to real people they are often a mixture of more than one person. Dialogue is totally fictional too. The opinions expressed are strictly those of the author and developed from personal experience of boarding school hence my description of it as fictional memoir.
